Oolite OXP

Oolite eXpansion packs or Oolite OXP turn imagination in to reality enhancing Oolite the game substantially. An OXP is downloaded as a ZIp file, which needs to be expanded, then placed in Oolite‘s add on folder. If you are Mac OSX it shows itself as and application, window it looks like a folder ending in .oxp

Such is the flexibility of the Oolite OXP is each game object could be a ship, space station, moon, mission or a combination of server elements. OXP‘s are so flexible they can use all the facilities of Oolite including some that aren’t used in the standard version. Oolite can only read OXP‘s once they are placed in the OXP add on folder.

Lot’s of time and effort has gone into expanding the Oolite universe and can be downloaded from a range of servers. If you are looking to expand your Oolite universe then try adding missions these can often included other ships, space stations and a range of different weapons.

There are other resources such as The Oolite Satellite Resource Site (Oosat2) or the older Captain Hack OoSat Site (Oosat1) but please note these older sites aren’t kept up-to-date and some of the OXP‘s may not work.
